Availity Corporate Account

This article should be used to gain access to Availity for Prime Managed Billing and learn how to use it.

If you have ever used your HPI Inc email address you must have an Alias email created to gain access to the site. (Once an email has been used for another Availity account it cannot be used again).

Instructions

Submit a form for assistance using Help Desk Incident to gain access as a user on the corporate site.

  1. Be sure to send to helpme@hpiinc.com or add to your submitted request, a list of the accounts you would like added to the portal and include

    1. Practice name

    2. Group NPI & Tax ID

    3. Provider Name and NPI

  2. Once you gained access, go to the Availity Website(https://www.availity.com/healthplans) and hit LOGIN

  3. Select the correct State for the practice that you’re working on
  4. You can always visit the Help and Training Center on the upper right corner, there is a catalog of courses and live sessions you can join.

    Availity Corporate Account can be utilize to run patient eligibility, follow up on claims and search for insurance payments.

Eligibility

  1. To run eligibility, got to Patient Registration and click on Eligibility and Benefits Inquiry

  2. Select the Payer, fill the requested information and hit Submit. 

  3. Make sure to select Coverage and Benefits, you can also select In or Out of Network benefits only or see them all at once. 

Claims Follow Up

  1. Go to Claim & Payments on the mega menu and click on Claim Status 

  2. Leave Organization as PMB and select the appropriate Payer (Aetna, Humana and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans are some of the most common payers that you can find) 
  3. Once you have selected a Payer, Availity will prompt you to fill out some fields. Such as, Provider, Patient and/or Claim’s info, depends on the payer. Fill the requested information and hit Submit to obtain claim status 
  4. On the upper right corner, you have options to do a new search, export the results, see remittance, etc. 

Payment Search

  1. If you are looking for an Electronic Remittance only, you can do that by going to Remittance Viewer also on Claims & Payments 

  2. The viewer itself will show all ERA available. With this tool you can filter to look for a specific ERA
  3. Also, HUMANA offers a tool to submit remittance inquiries, where you can search by check number, ACH number, etc. Select the appropriate Tax ID, the Type and enter the requested number

If your practices and providers are not entered in this portal you will not be able to see data. Also, its important to understand that this does not replace the Availity portal that should be created by each practice.
